Title:
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR REMOVING CESIUM FROM RADIOACTIVE CESIUM CONTAMINATED SOIL BY ELECTROPHORESIS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2014173992
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method capable of removing a radioactive cesium from a soil, suitable for decontamination of the farm and the paddy field without causing occurrence of new contaminants such as polluted water, and suitable for a large scale processing.SOLUTION: The device includes: an electrolytic cell 3 for holding a water wettability body 5 (hereinafter, referred to as a wet body) of the soil for the purpose of removing a radioactive cesium from the soil; an anode 1 into which at least a part of the wet body of the electrolytic cell is immersed; a separator 11 whose one portion is immersed into the wet body, non-permeable to soil particles, and permeable to ion; a cathode 13 installed via the separator; an ion liquid 12 held between the separator and the cathode; an anode external terminal capable of connecting the anode and a power supply; and a cathode external terminal capable of connecting the cathode and the power supply. The method removes the cesium from the soil contaminated with the radioactive cesium by applying a voltage to the device.
