Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a selection error caused by inaccuracy in discrimination and to improve reliability in NRF selection control by performing the selection control of NRF to be used for removing or decreasing the same channel interference through the retrieval of the synchronizing signal or reference signal of an NTSC TV signal to be easily detected in spite of a very bad environment.
SOLUTION: The structure of a simulcast receiver is composed of one tuner 201, 1st and 2nd signal processors 220 and 230 for respectively separately processing the NTSC TV signal and an HDTV signal, and one display 280. In this case, a discriminator for discriminating whether a received signal is the HDTV signal or NTSC TV signal is provided with a 1st detector 240, 2nd detector 250 and discriminate signal generator 260. Based on the discriminate signal, a selector 270 selects either the NTSC TV signal demodulated at the 1st signal processor 220 or the HDTV signal demodulated at the 2nd signal processor 230.
