Abstract:
To provide a document retrieving device and method capable of properly using words expressing the characteristics of a document for retrieval.
A field specification word is extracted from a retrieval key document, and a word to be retrieved is segmented from a document to be retrieved. Then, matching processing and similarity calculation are performed between them so that the document to be retrieved can be narrowed down. At the time of calculating similarity between the narrowed-down document to be retrieved and the retrieval key document, a retrieval word different from the field specification word is extracted from the retrieval key document, and a similar document is retrieved by using the retrieval word.
