To provide a reliable device and a reliable method for supplying a stamper which can control the detachment of the stamper during mounting a stamper on a stamper holder.
The stamper supplying device includes a stamper holder 22 capable of holding plate-like stampers 20 in the state that two or more stampers 20 are piled on a stand seat 12 with a pin 16 engaged in the central holes of the stampers 20, a pin measuring unit, (a reflection type sensor 56) capable of measuring the degree of deformation of the pin 16 of the stamper holder 22 and a stamper mounting unit for mounting of the stampers 20 on the stamper holder 22. The stamper mounting unit mounts stampers 20 only on stamper holders 22 whose degree of deformation of the pin 16 is within specified limits and does not mount any stamper 20 on stamper holders 22 whose degree of deformation of the pin 16 is out of the specified limits.
