Abstract:

To provide a device and a method for threading female screw, capable of forming a high-strength female screw portion.

The female screw threading device 10 has an arc heating device 46 for heating a bush machining position P at which a female screw 15 is formed in a metal plate, a filler feeder 44 for thickening at the bush machining position P, a machining tool 60 for forming the female screw 15 in the metal plate, a cooling unit 62 for cooling the machining tool 60, a spindle motor 52 for rotating the machining tool 60, and a lift motor 36 for advancing and retracing the machining tool 60. The female screw threading device stops heating by the arc heating device 46, continues cooling by the cooling unit 62, inserts the machining tool 60 into the metal plate while rotating it, and forms the female screw 15 with the machining tool while rapidly cooling the metal plate. The machining tool 60 is freely attachable and detachable by a chuck 58, and the cooling unit 62 cools the machining tool 60 indirectly via the chuck 58.
