Abstract:

PURPOSE: To adequately respond to ventilator disturbance by adjusting all errors of the rate of flow, including integration of the same, during the all previous breathing control intervals of a patient's.
CONSTITUTION: An oxygen source 12 is connected to a proportional solenoid valve 18 by a duct 16 and is farther connected to a mixing chamber 20 by a duct 19. A flow rate sensor 21 to measure oxygen flow rate is attached to the duct 19. Air is supplied to the mixing chamber 20 from an air source 14 likewise. Then, gas mixture is supplied to a patient by an air duct 26 for patient and is measured the flow rate and pressure of the same by a flow rate sensor 32. Flow rate measurement signals of each control interval of breathing is compared with a desired flow rate signal 36 to calculate a flow rate error. This error is added to the sum of errors up to then and the new sum is stored in a memory means 144. This integration signal is supplied to a flow rate control valve 152 and supply of the gas mixture to a patient is controlled.
