Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently select a desired program out of a lot of programs by generating the data of electronic program guide, for which the still picture of the representative picture of a program broadcasted by plural broadcasting channels is reduced, and transmitting still picture data while superimposing them on the data of the program.
SOLUTION: A switcher 301 is controlled by a controller 308, selects signals for two channels (CH) to be broadcasted for promotion and outputs them to a promotion CH generator 302. The device 302 superimposes those signals on data inputted from an ERG data generator through a single picture generator by a superimposer. Those data are multiplexed by an MUX, inputted to an MUX 304-1 and encoded. The MUX 304-1 multiplexes the data inputted from a device 302 and EPG data generator 309. Encoders from 303-1 to 303-7 encode the inputted video and audio data and output them to MUX from 304-2 to 304-8. A block 310 sends the reduced picture of the representative picture to the MUX from 304-1 to 304-8. Those data are passed through circuits from 305-1 to 305-8, synthesized by the synthesizing circuits 305 and transmitted.
