PURPOSE: To perform housing, moving and loading of an optical storage disk by driving a follower nut and a selected cartridge with a lead screw and inserting the cartridge into an optical reader device.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of positioning a cartridge 14 desired to be loaded by a loading device 28, a magazine carrier 18 is fixed to the cartridge by a moving device, and a cartridge loading device 28 is driven. Then, a pin 40 projected upward on the follower nut 32 is turned to be inserted into a slot 42 of the optical storage disk cartridge 14, and hence the cartridge 14 is moved by the projected pin 40 in proportion as the follower nut 32 is driven by the lead screw 30. After inserting the cartridge 14 into an optical storage reader, the follower nut 32 is rotated, and the projected pin 40 is taken out of the cartridge 14. By this method, plural optical storage disk can be housed, moved and loaded.
