Title:
DEVICE FOR POURING MOLTEN METAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04231171
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a molten metal pouring device, in which a laminar flow type pouring stream can be generated under arbitrary continuous or discontinuous operational conditions and as the result, the frequency and the importance of the surface defect of a product and the imperfectness of the inside due to pouring are reduced and improved.

CONSTITUTION: This device for pouring a molten metal has characteristics, in which the effective cross section in the molten metal pouring device formed with the surface of a pouring passage used for a pouring metal stream is initially kept small while the passage of the pouring metal stream is gradually opened, the pouring passage is provided with an active portion showing a formed cross sections (2, 6) over at least a remarkable part of this length, this formed portion is extended to the end part of the passage to have a shape being equal to a start shape having three (2) of four (6) branches and the bottom parts of these branches are extended to the axial direction in the pouring stream direction and act as a metal guide during the metal pouring.
