Abstract:
A system to pressurise the cabins of aircraft for high-altitude flights includes the circuit with a section through which all the air must pass. This section has a porous structure and presents a large surface area. The latter is coated with a substance which effects a catalytic reduction of ozone to oxygen. The ozone content which may be as high as 1.5 ppm above the tropopause is thereby reduced to below the max. 0.1 ppm desirable for respiratory air.
