Title:
DEVICE FOR PREVENTING DOOR FROM BEING OPENED
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3971846
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for preventing a door from being opened which quickly responds when an earthquake occurs and automatically effects unlocking at the end of the earthquake.
SOLUTION: In a cabinet comprising a cabinet body and a door 3 which is pivotally supported on an edge of an opening of the cabinet body, a door opening prevention device 5, which is actuated when an earthquake of predetermined seismic intensity or higher occurs to prevent the door from being opened, is provided. The device 5 includes a latch 10 having at its forward end an elastically openable bifurcated locking part, a receiving member 15 with a cavity for insertion of the locking part, which locks the locking part when the locking part protruding from the cavity is opened, a wedge pin 20 which engages a wide part in a gap of the locking part protruding from the cavity of the member 15 when the door is closed to allow the deformation of the locking part in the closing direction thereof, and an operation mechanism 25 which actuates the pin 20 when an earthquake occurs to displace the pin 20 from the wide part to a narrow part, preventing the deformation of the locking part in the closing direction thereof.
