PURPOSE: To provide a superposed card feed prevention device ensuring the proper prevention of the feed of cards or the like in superposed state without deteriorating operability for card insertion and causing no overload on a drive motor to rotate a feed roller pair.

CONSTITUTION: This device is equipped with a pair of an upper driving roller 13a and a lower driven roller 13b separated from each other by a gap larger than the thickness of one piece of a card or the like 3, but less than the thickness of two or more cards or the like 3 and 3. Either of the rollers 13a and 13b has a small size in the breadthwise direction of the card or the like 3, and laid so as not to be vertically superposed on top of each other.
