To enable the prevention of a horizontal swing of a cable even in the case where a carriage is moved up and down at a high speed by extending a wire on a side of a mast in a vertical direction and allowing the wire to pass through a guide post to guide an up and down movement of the guide pipe which movement is resulted from the up and down movement of the carriage.
A drum 29 has a rotation shaft 31 and a pair of guide pipes 32 and 33 are fixed to both side of this rotation shaft 31 via a metal fixture. The guide pipes 32 and 33 are formed of steel or a resin, and has an inside diameter larger than the diameters of the wires 21 and 22, and these wires pass through the inside of the guide pipes 32 and 33 corresponding thereto. Consequently since the guide pipes 32 and 33 are guided by the wires 21 and 22 and moved, the drum 29 smoothly falls together with the guide pipes 32 and 33. Consequently, the horizontal swing of the flat cable 11 and the projection of the mast to the side can be prevented.
