To print a multi-bit for each pixel image from a halftone binary digital bit map having pixels.
A memory is for acquiring the multi-bit for each pixel image. A lookup table is arranged in a programmable gate array in order to convert the multi-bit for each pixel image to a basic duty cycle and it is located outside the memory. The basic duty cycle is arranged in the programmable gate array. It is composed of the lookup table, which is adapted for generating the adjusted driving signal from the basic duty cycle in order to adjust the exposure for each pixel in the multi-bit for each pixel image, a printer which is adapted for using the adjusted exposure in order to print the image having the resolution greater than 1,400 dpi and which is composed of a drum capable of spinning, and an encoder arranged on the drum in order to provide a home signal and a pixel rate.
