Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for detecting a booklet end surface wherein the end surface position of a page is accurately detected.
SOLUTION: The booklet processing device comprises a transportation unit which transports a passbook T with a page P opened, a lamp 41 which emits light, diagonally toward the direction reverse to the transportation direction of the passbook T, onto the upper surface part of the opened page P of the passbook T transported with the transportation unit, a CCD line-sensor 45 which detects a shade 47 generated when the light emitted from the lamp 41 is shielded with the end part of the page P, and a judging means 49 which judges, when the CCD line-sensor 45 detects the shade 47, its position is at the end surface position of the page or not.
