To realize a simple, quick and precise method to prepare a fixing surface required for a surgical prosthesis in a shinbone and especially in a femoral region.

In the device for producing the fixing surface to fix the surgical prosthesis within the knee joint to the grain of the femoral region adjoining the knee joint or to the top of the shinbone, a head of rotary milling cutter (2) is set on the femoral and the vertical axis of the shinbone by a tightening measure (bone clamp 26). The angle of the rotary milling cutter head can be adjusted to the stable stopping place which limits a milling plane (milling planes I-V) by rotating around the above-mentioned vertical axis line. Moreover, it can be displaced within the milling plane (milling planes I-V) set as mentioned above by covering a milling plane and acting as a face milling cutter or a cylindrical cutter.
