A roller rotation quantity-calculating member 31 calculates the unit rotation quantity of a feed roller to the unit change quantity of the reciprocating movement of a needle-thrusting mechanism on the basis of a feed roller intermittent feeding quantity set with a feeding distance-setting member 32 and on the basis of a movement area set with a roller movement area-setting member 30. A crank shaft position detector 34 detects the position of a crank shaft for each unit change quantity of the needle-thrusting mechanism reciprocation movement. A member 33 for adding and directing roller rotation quantities successively adds the unit change quantities of the needle-thrusting mechanism reciprocation movements and outputs unit rotation quantity movement commands to the feed roller for each unit change quantity. Consequently, the feed roller is driven for each reciprocation movement unit change quantity of the needle-thrusting mechanism.
