To improve production efficiency by loading up articles to be treated in a multistage in a preheating zone and to improve the ratio of the calories consumed to decompose and remove organic components in the treated articles to the calories for heating fixtures for transporting the treated articles.
This device for producing porous material is provided with a preheating zone 1 for decomposing and removing the organic components by heating a base material formed by impregnating an organic porous carrier body with a slurry liquid containing metallic powder and a heating zone 2 for sintering the remaining metallic powder. In the preheating zone, the untreated articles are loaded up in a multistage providing a space between the stages and treated by sending a non-oxidizing atmospheric gas obtained by burning a hydrocarbon-based fuel in an air ratio of ≤1 as an atmospheric gas passing through the space between the stages to the preheating zone to accelerate the decomposition and the removal of the organic components.
