Title:
DEVICE FOR PROJECTING TWO MUTUALLY ORTHOGONAL REFERENCE RAY OF LIGHT PLANES
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03189513
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To easily calibrate a polarizer by providing three reflective surfaces so that the tilting of the polarizer around a second axial line perpendicular to a first axial line can change the projecting area of a second ray of light surface, but cannot change the orthogonality between the first and second ray of light surfaces.

CONSTITUTION: A polarizer has at least three reflective surfaces which are directed to each other so that the tilting of the polarizer around a first axial line can be compensated so as to maintain a ray of light plane 110 perpendicular to another ray of light plane 108 and the tilting of the polarizer around a second axial line perpendicular to the fist axial line displaces an area 112 upon which the ray of light plane 110 is projected, but maintains the orthgonality between the ray of light planes 108 and 110. Light enters the first opening 120 of an output prism 106 from an input prism 104 and is emitted from the prism 106 through the second to fifth openings of the prism 106. When four reflective surfaces are provided on a diverter 102, the ray of light plane 108 is blockaded in the projecting area of the ray of light plane 110 and, therefore, the ray of light planes 108 and 110 can be selectively utilized for a construction basis or machine control.
