Abstract:
To improve beam quality and efficiency of a solid laser by reducing the influence of the break limit of a laser crystal for improvement of pumping power density.
A crystal axis (axis a) in the direction where the maximum value of crystal limit strength is present between crystal axes (axes a and c) of the anisotropic laser crystal is directed along a maximum temperature gradient in the direction of a smaller spread in the pumping beam cross section.
