PURPOSE: To shorten a time needed to a recording and a reproducing by providing an ID part at the both edges of a recording track on an optical type card and executing recording and reproducing operation in a zigzag form.

CONSTITUTION: When information are recorded from left in an (n)-th track, after an ID part 2 is recognized, flag information to show the information are recorded from left in this track are recorded in a flag part 3. After that, the information are recorded in a user area 4. Continuously, when the information are recorded in an (n+1)-th track, with still falling down, then, an ID part 6 is recognized from right this time, the flag information are recorded in a flag part 5 and the information are recorded in the user area 4. Thus, by providing the ID parts at the both edges of the recording track on an optical type card 1, the time needed to the recording and reproducing of the information can be widely shortened since the recording and reproducing operation is executed without returning to the head part of the track in each track in case the information are reproduced from this optical type car 1 or the information are recorded with using an optical pick-up 21.
