Title:
DEVICE FOR REDUCING RADIATION OF INFRARED RAYS FROM SHIP
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP56116583
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the intensity of infrared rays emitted outward from a ship, by providing a transparent an infrared ray absorption transparent panel at a distance from the outside surface of the infrared ray making section of the ship such as a chimney.

CONSTITUTION: An infrared ray absorption transparent panel 3 is provided at a predetermined distance from the outside surface of the infrared ray emitting section of a ship such as a chimney 2 containing an engine exhaust pipe of high temperature, an upper structure, an upper deck or a broadside plate, the temperature of which is heightened by solar heat. The infrared ray absorption transparent panel 3 is made of acrylic synthetic resin. Since the panel 3 is transparent, visible rays of light with the highest solar radiation energy are transmitted through the panel 3 so that the temperature rise of the panel 3 is kept low. This results in reducing the intensity of infrared rays emitted outward from the ship.
