PURPOSE: To improve the productivity and quality by setting up an auxiliary rollout device provided with a liftable rollout guide roller which rolls out a belt-shaped material by predetermined length from a roll object while start and final ends of the belt-shaped material are connected in press contact between a press contact device and a supporting shaft.

CONSTITUTION: In a condition that a final end Wa of a belt-shaped material W, first rolled out, and a point end Wb of the belt-shaped material W, rolled out from the next roll object 4, are overlapped in a predetermined length, when the final and point ends Wa, Wb are connected in press contact by a press contact device 6, lift action of a cylinder 20 is detected by proximity switches 21a, 21b, and a rollout guide roll 7 is lowered by a predetermined distance, in a condition that the material W is hooked, by actuating a lift cylinder 22 of an assist rollout device 8 associated with this cylinder 20. Thus by rolling out the material W by the predetermined length from the roll object 4, excessive tensile force is prevented from acting in a press contact connection part between the final and point ends Wa, Wb of the material W even when it is pulled by a rollout driving gear 3. Accordingly, such a problem as exfoliating the material W in the press contact connection part is eliminated.
