Abstract:
PURPOSE:To rotate a long length rod having a spiral projection on the outer peripheral surface thereof without the rotary center position thereof being changed, by forming relief grooves in a support section in such a timing that the projection rotatingly passes through intermediate support points. CONSTITUTION:Upper and lower end plugs 3, 4 are held by rotatable chucks 5, 6, and rollers 7, 8 support the intermediate part of a covered pipe 1. Gears 9, 10, 11, 12 which are rotated by a motor 14 have gear ratios such that the rollers 7, 8 and the covered pipe 1 have the same peripheral speed upon rotation. The rollers 7, 8 are formed therein with grooves 7a, 7b, 8a, 8b which do not interfere with a spacer wire 2 upon rotation and have the same wound angle theta as that of the spacer wire 2. Since the projection of the long length rod may be evaded and the rod may be supported and rotated, the rotation having the uniform rotational center of the long length rod may be made.
