PURPOSE: To prevent a drop in cutting efficiency by providing an inverted conical-shaped rotary separator with an opening on the bottom thereof in a device for separating and removing cutting powder as produced in the manufacture of a fine stone plate.
CONSTITUTION: In order to remove quickly powder as produced during the cutting of a stone material 1, a liquid/containing grains 2 is jetted from a nozzle 17. Thereafter, the powder mixed with the liquid 2 is discharged from a discharge hole 18 for the temporary stowage thereof in a liquid reservoir 19 and then fed to the rotary center of a funnel-shaped rotary separator 20. And the opening of a valve 35 located at the lower end of a cylindrical part 20b is adjusted for the collection of a lower liquid portion 22 wherein many grains are contained. Also, an upper liquid portion 21 containing much cutting powder is made to overflow from the outer periphery of an inverted conical-shaped part 20c and collected into a ring-shaped receiver 36. Cutting work by using the aforesaid device obviates a problem liable to occur with a blade blunt due to the deposits of cutting powder.
