PURPOSE: To secure separation by providing long and short pitch spiral shafts independently rotatably in series and providing an escapement and a bundle condition detector on the joint of both shafts, in a separating device for soft annular parts such as an endless belt, etc.
CONSTITUTION: Spiral shafts 20, 22 are rotated with their respective speeds of rotation and, as a bundle of belts 7 is hung down on the long-pitch spiral groove shaft 20, the belts 7 are moved in the direction of the short-pitch spiral groove shaft 22 while the bundle being unwound. At this time, the stopper 29 of an escapement 30 is projected while a stopper 28 is being retracted. Accordingly, the bundle of the belts 7 is brought into contact with the stopper 29 and positioned in between the stoppers 29, 28. When a sensor 40 detects this, the stopper 29 is retracted and the stopper 28 is projected, separating the belts 7 through the rotation of the short-pitch spiral shaft 22. The projection/ contraction of the stoppers 28, 29 is repeated at a defined pitch to carry out the separation of the belt. By this structure, separation can be securely carried out.
