PURPOSE: To prevent termites from penetrating into a building by fixing a fixed termite shield to a foundation and providing a movable termite shield which is movable in a predetermined direction with respect to the fixed termite shield and a temperature-sensitive drive member.

CONSTITUTION: A fixed termite shield 2 comprising a flat surface portion 5 covering the ground surface G from the base of a continuous footing 1, an inclined portion 6 extending obliquely above the portion 5, and a suspended portion 7 which is bent downwards is fed to the foundation 1. And a movable termite shield 3 is suspended pivotally from the connection part between the inclined portion 6 and the suspended portion 7. Further a temperature-sensitive drive member 4 of a spring 4a is provided between the lower end of the portion 7 and the lower part of the shield 3, in which the spring 4a extends at about 20°C, at which temperature termites become active, so that the spacing between said lower end and the lower part expands by about 3-5mm. As a result, a road of ant formed by termites is broken between the shield 3 and the portion 7, thereby preventing the penetration of the termite.
