Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prepare a cotton-like short carbon fiber having convolutions and capable of being directly formed into chopped fibers by disposing a pitch- extruding hole on the side inner from the outlet surface of a gas path disposed on the periphery of the pitch-extruding hole.
CONSTITUTION: A pitch-extruding hole 1 is disposed on the side inner from the outlet surface of a nozzle 2 for a gas path with a gas-feeding pipe 7, and an optically isotropic pitch 3 is charged into a pitch reservoir 5 and extruded to provide the objective short fiber.
