Abstract:

To provide a device for stirring a molten metal, which has excellent thermal impact resistance and wear resistance compared with those of the conventional one.

The device 1 for stirring the molten metal is made of ceramics, and includes an umbrella-shaped stirring blade at the distal end of a cylindrical shaft part, wherein the thickness of the inner circumferential part 2a of the stirring blade is controlled to 4.0 to 9.0% of the diameter, and is also controlled to 0.9 to 2.0 times the thickness of the outer circumferential part 2b. Preferably, the device 1 for stirring a molten metal is constituted in such a manner that a tapered part 22 gradually widen from the distal end side of the shaft part 3 is formed at the bottom face part 2b of the agitation blade 2, and further, the outer circumferential part 2a of the agitation blade 2 is provided with square-shaped notched parts 21 at suitable intervals.
