Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce interruption of drive with a strapping means supplied to a required locking unit by placing the locking unit and a strapping means stock to be vertically movable together with a pressing board and allowing an initial end of a new strapping means to the locking unit at an arbitrary driving position.
CONSTITUTION: After packing goods 11 are transferred to a strapping region, a strapping means 14 is fed forward by a feed roller 32, and its front end is brought to a locking unit 18 through guides 20, 21, 24, 22 and direction changing members 33 to 36. In the meantime or immediately after this, a pressing board 16, the locking unit 18 and a reservoir 19 are lowered above the goods 11 to compress the goods 11 with predetermined strength. Then the other end of the strapping means 14 is fixed to the locking unit 18, and the feed roller 32 is inversely rotated to tighten around the compressed packing goods 11 tightly by the strapping means 14. An excessive strapping means 14 may be stored in the reservoir 19 to be used at an initial stage of the next strapping.
