Abstract:
PURPOSE:To shorten a switching time by bringing the flat surfaces of both 1st and 2nd connector ferrules in a connection state into tight contact with positioning surfaces and shifting a positioning pin in a guide hole. CONSTITUTION:The flat surfaces 11 of the respective connector ferrules 3A-3C are brought into tight contact with the positioning surface 23 of base boards 16A and 16B. Then a holding block 41 is moved along a guide shaft 48, respective projection pins 18 are inserted into the guide holes 12 of both connector ferrules 3A and 3B in the connection state from both sides, and both projection pins 18 are moved toward the rear end of the 1st connector ferrule 3A. Thus, the positioning pin 5 is shifted and arranged in the guide hole 12 of the 1st connector ferrule 3A so that it is extracted from the guide hole 12 of the 2nd connector ferrule 3B. In this case, the base board 16A maintains the positioning states of both connector ferrules 3A and 3B, so variation in the connection loss due to the extraction of the positioning pin 5 can be reduced. Consequently, the switching time is shortened.
