Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a vertical finger joint having a high withstand load strength, which is appropriate for a long large bridge, by projecting multiple vertical fingers from each inner surface of web plates opposite to each other, and forming the road surface of the upper ends of the projected multiple vertical finger plates.
CONSTITUTION: In a joint of road bridges 1, 1 a pair of base plates 5, 5, of which plate surface is arranged in the lateral direction, are fixed to the end of the road bridges opposite to each other. A pair of web plates 6, 6, which are extended in the longitudinal direction of the joint and of which plate surface is arranged in the vertical direction, are stood on the base plates 5. Multiple vertical finger plates 7, 7, of which plate surface is arranged in the vertcial direction, are projected from each opposite inner surface of the web plates so as to form the road surface of the upper end thereof. A load to be applied to the vertical finger plate 7 is supported in a wide range on and under the web plates 6 so as to improve the withstand load strength.
