There are provided a cylindrical storage box 2 having four sidewalls with its upper and lower ends being opened, and old newspaper being stored in an inner space in a flat-stacked manner, and a folding and inverting mechanism for folding the storage box 2 from its outer side to its inner side, or from its inner side to the outer side, and inverting it. One folding and inverting mechanism (projection shafts 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d) is provided at each upper part of the four sidewalls of the storage box, and the other folding and inverting mechanism (projection shafts 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d) is provided on each window portion formed at lower parts of the four sidewalls of the storage box. A string is moved downwardly from other folding and inverting mechanism due to the self weight of the old newspaper thrown in and stored in the storage box 2, and the other folding and inverting mechanism is detached from the remaining folding and inverting mechanisms.
