Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a test device capable of accurately determining the dynamical property of a discontinuous plane in bedrock reflecting the distortion property of underground cavern bedrock deeply existing as well as constant of normal stress (CNL) and constant of normal displacement (CND).
SOLUTION: The device for testing the discontinuous plane on a rock includes an upper box 2 in which an object 3 with the discontinuous plane for shearing test is caught and a lower box being moved on the upper box 2, horizontally applies the shearing force onto the lower box along the object with the discontinuous plane for shearing test while applying the normal stress onto the object 3 for shearing, and automatically controls the normal stress in accordance with the normal displacement of the object for shearing test. The variation ΔN of the normal stress is determined for the variation Δu of the normal displacement of the sheared object for shearing test such as the following: ΔN=kn.Δu, i.e., ΔN={E/(1+v)r}Δu, where E is distortion coefficient of the surrounding bedrock, and v is Poisson's ratio, and r is affected range.
