PURPOSE: To provide a device for testing a limit switch of an elevator whereby high accurate testing of action of the limit switch can be easily and efficiently performed by bringing a cam into contact with a lever in a condition approximate to the actual action.

CONSTITUTION: A testing cam 11, movable to a position of actuating limit switches 6a to 6d, is provided as a separate unit from a cam 8 in a riding cage position in the vicinity of upper and lower end parts of a lift path internal wall, in a riding cage 2, or a limit switch actuating cam 30, concurrently serving as a testing cam, is provided. Thus by eliminating necessity for human hand, an action test of the limit switch can be accurately and efficiently performed.
