Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the service life of a light emitting element and to improve operability by emitting the light emitting element for bar code illumination and providing an operation period for bar code only when the pen pressure at the tip of a pen is increased and a pressure sensitive switch for detecting that pen pressure is connected or disconnected except the fixed time when a signal for coordinate is detected.
SOLUTION: Both an optical body structure 17 and a coordinate signal sensor 9 can be vertically moved corresponding to the pen pressure of a pen 1 (the pressure of the pen 1 onto a bar code surface 19), a movable member 18 can be vertically moved corresponding to the pen pressure of the pen 1 as well and a pressure sensitive switch 12 is connected/disconnected (turned on/off). While considering the state of this switch 12 and the state of detecting the coordinate signal in a coordinate signal search cycle, a light emitting element 13 is turned on as an operation for bar code. At the time point of a moment when the switch 12 is turned on (when the pen pressure exceeds a fixed level), it is judged whether the tip of the pen 1 exists on a coordinate panel 3 or not and either the operation for bar code or an operation for coordinate is determined.
