PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening/closing device for a toilet seat and a toilet lid which can open and close a toilet seat and a toilet lid respectively at appropriate timing with one motor, thereby achieving a reduction in its cost and size.SOLUTION: The opening/closing device comprises a toilet seat output gear 21 connected to a support shaft of a toilet seat, a toilet lid output gear 22 connected to a support shaft of a toilet lid, and a transmission gear 24 which is arranged in a position where the transmission gear can be meshed with the toilet seat output gear 21 and the toilet lid output gear 22 respectively and which receives power of a motor as an input. A toothed portion 24d having a tooth 24c only in a range of a prescribed central angle of a circumference and a toothless portion 24e that does not have the teeth outside the toothed range are formed in the transmission gear 24. The transmission gear 24 is provided in such a manner that when the transmission gear is meshed with one of the toilet seat output gear 21 and the toilet lid output gear 22 in the toothed portion 24d, the toothless portion 24e faces the other so that the transmission gear is not meshed with the other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
