The developing device is constituted of a developing unit and a toner supply device. Then, driving force from one driving source is transmitted so that the rotation is transmitted to the cam 66 of a rotation decelerating mechanism 80 through a gear train 78 together with the developer carrier of the developing unit, and then the toner stirring means of the toner supply device is rotated through the mechanism 80. The mechanism 80 is constituted of the cam 66 rotated by the driving force from the driving source, an arm 67 rocked by the cam 66 and a one-way clutch 68 converting the rocking of the arm to one-way rotation. At such a time, it is good to prevent the reverse rotation of the toner stirring means from being transmitted to the arm 67 by providing a clutch 71.
