Abstract:

To improve a device so that it can shift to a lockup state from a resting state.

A device for transmitting torque between two rotatable coaxial shafts (1,2) has a clutch (35) placed between the shafts so as to cancel out a difference in the rotation speed between the two coaxial shafts by means of a hydraulic piston (18) controlled by an electrically controlled throttle valve or pressure valve (26), and a clutch pump (36) driven by one or both of the shafts so as to supply hydraulic pressure to a hydraulic piston (18). The hydraulic piston (18), the valve (26), and the clutch pump (36) are connected to a hydraulic system, which has a feeder pump (31) for keeping a given standard pressure with the hydraulic system. The hydraulic system allows hydraulic flow flowing into the hydraulic piston (18) from the feeder pump (31) via the valve (26) under given conditions regardless of hydraulic flow from the clutch pump (36).
