PURPOSE: To accurately adjust a clearance of a roll by connecting a jack to a chassis so as to press the roll on a material or in the clearance at the time of revolving the chassis and connecting an adjustable stopping device to the vicinity of the jack working point.
CONSTITUTION: When air is injected into a lower part chamber of a jack 19 at a pressure insufficient for a piston 24 to compress a spring 23, that is, at a pressure of about two bars, a chassis 18 revolves only along a process allowed by a slender hole 26. Thereafter, when air is injected into a lower part of the jack 19 at a pressure insufficient for the piston 24 to compress the spring 23, that is, at a pressure of about five bars, the chassis 18 revolves along a process allowed by compression of the spring 23. Consequently, the rolls 1 and 2 open an interval so that the material can be easily inserted between the rollers 1, 2.
