Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the device such that it can be handled in a more user-friendly manner.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a device (2) wearable on the body of a user to provide vacuum for medical applications, in particular for vacuum treatment of wounds on the human or animal body, the device comprising: vacuum generating means; and a disposable one-way vessel (10) which receives bodily fluids, in particular wound secretions suctioned from a wound and which can be discarded after use. To make the device more user-friendly in terms of handling, the device is designed such that the housing parts (4, 8) can be fixed releasably against each other by locking or engaging means (34) which operates in a snap-fitting, latching, or otherwise manner.
