To provide an opening/closing device which can cope with the state of cutting, loosening, etc. of an endless loop-shaped power transmission member by accurately sensing the state of them.
This opening/closing device comprises: a driven rotor 30 and a driving rotor 40, which bring about the opening/closing motion of an opening/closing body 10; an endless loop-shaped power transmission member 60 which is laid to transmit the rotational force of the driving rotor 40 to the driven rotor 30; first and second abutting members 80 and 90 which abut on each other in such a manner as to sandwich the power transmission member 60, laid between rotors 30 and 40; and the like. Both the abutting members are supported in such a manner as to be movable in the direction of getting closer to/getting away from each other, and urged in the direction of getting closer to each other; the first abutting member 80 is moved by the urging force, and engaged with the driven rotor 30 so that the rotation of the driven rotor 30 can be suppressed, in accordance with the loosening of the power transmission member 60; and the movement of the second abutting member 90 by the urging force is sensed by a sensing portion 110.
