PURPOSE: To attain the input/output of data in the sense of paper by displaying immediately the data inputted via an input tablet on a display device set under the tablet.
CONSTITUTION: An input/display part 11 includes a transparent electrostatic tablet 33 serving as an input tablet which is laminated on a liquid crystal display panel 31 serving as a display device. The panel 31 contains the liquid crystal enclosed between two glass substrates 32a and 32b. The transparent electrodes are provided on the inner surfaces of both substrates 32a and 32b to apply the voltage to the liquid crystal. At the same time, the transparent electrodes are provided on both sides of a glass substrate forming the tablet 33 to sense the contact of an input pen 3, etc., to which to prescribed voltage is applied as a change of the electrostatic capacity. The data inputted via the tablet 33 are immediately displayed on the display device 31 set under the tablet 33. Thus the data can be inputted in the sense of paper.
