Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a device which is efficient for dewatering the side end faces of a sheet in a metallic strip,pass line, copes suitably with the sheet different in width in dewatering operation, follows the meander automatically tracking the position in the direction of a sheet width and guarantees a secure dewatering operation.
CONSTITUTION: Laterally movable 1st and 2nd search elements 11, 12 which search left and right side ends of a running sheet, and 1st and 2nd air ejectors 12, 22 which follow the movement of the search elements and elect the air to the left and right side end parts of the sheet detect amounts of displacement of the search elements by 1st and 2nd detectors 14, 24 of an encoder etc. In accordance with the search to the side ends of the sheet by the 1st and 2nd search elements, the operation of drive machines M1, M2 for a set of the lst search element and the 1st air elector and a set of the 2nd search element and the 2nd air elector is controlled so that they take a prescribed relational position in the direction of the sheet width to the side ends of this sheet.
