This diagnosing device comprises an input section for inputting a signal of a torque sensor 7 for detecting an output torque of the element, and an output parameter determining section for determining an output parameter of the element based on the signal from the input section. The diagnosing device performs the abnormal diagnosis of the element according to the output parameter determined in the output parameter determining section. The output parameter is compared with a reference output parameter of the element determined using a means different from the torque sensor, thereby performing the abnormal diagnosis of the element.
