PURPOSE: To provide an diagnosis system for inspecting automotive starter, which is capable of inspecting performance of starter without removing the same from engine, by measuring voltage, current and revolution speed of the starter simultaneously at the time of starting engine and subjecting the results of measurement to arithmetic processing.
CONSTITUTION: Current 1 passed in starter 6 is detected by current probe 16 and the output signal is furnished to operational processing unit 38 via amplifier 18, smoothing circuit 22 and A-D converter 30. Voltage V impressed on the starter is detected at terminal 10 and the output signal is also furnished to the operational processing unit 38 via smoothing circuit 24 and A-D converter 32. In detecting the revolutional number N of starter 6, on the other hand, pulses of voltage impressed on the primary side of the ignition system are detected by primary voltage probe 20 and furnished to AND-gate 34 via flip-flop 26. A pulse oscillator 28 is connected to the other input terminal of AND-gate 34 and output of the gate 34 is furnished to the operational processing unit 38 via counter 42.
