To obtain the subject medicament intended to dealing with the irritating action due to a reducing agent or oxidizing agent used in compositions for hair permanent waves by including monoethanolamine.
This diagnostic medicament contains monoethanolamine; preferably, this medicament is such one as to contain, in a physiologically acceptable medium, a Substance P antagonist (e.g. peptide, non-peptide derivative, a compound containing nitrogen atom(s) bound to a benzene ring or a heterocyclic ring containing nitrogen, sulfur or oxygen atom(s)) and/or CGRP antagonist (e.g. CGRP 8-37 or anti-CGRP antibody), and at least one activator having irritant side effect (pref. reducing agent and/or oxidizing agent except peroxide). The diagnostic examination using this medicament involves the following procedure: a cotton pad impregnated with 3 mL of 10% monoethanolamine aqueous solution is applied onto test site(s) on the scalp and a clinical symptom developed after a given period of time is assessed.
