To provide a diagonally lifting elevator device discharging gas and smoke generated in a hoistway by a blocking plate in a hoistway opening part operated to open/close by gravitational action.
In an opening part 6 provided in an upper surface 7 in the lengthwise intermediate of a hoistway 1, a blocking plate 10 is mounted to be freely displaced, and an energizing mechanism 17 for energizing the blocking plate 10 in the opening direction by gravitational action is provided. A thermal fuse 18, engaged with the blocking plate 10, holding it at ordinary time in a blocking position against energizing force of the energizing mechanism 17 and acting, when a temperature in the hoistway 1 exceeds a prescribed value, to release holding of the blocking plate 10, is provided. In this way, the thermal fuse 18 holds the blocking plate 10 always in a position blocking the opening part 6. The thermal fuse 18 is operated when a temperature in the hoistway 1 rises by fire or the like, the blocking plate 10 is opened, to discharge gas and smoke in the hoistway 1.
