To provide a dial type indicator which can prevent a careless change in display for discriminating a file and can also easily change the display, and to provide a file using the same.
The dial type indicator is equipped with: a disk-like fixed member 19 provided with two or more indications for discrimination: and a rotating member 20 which is attached to the fixed member 19 freely rotatably and has an indication window 35 for indicating any one of the indications for discrimination to the outside while covering the two or more indications for discrimination. The fixed member 19 and the rotating member 20 are respectively provided with holding recessed parts 22 and holding projecting parts 33 constituting a holding means for holding the rotating part 20 by predetermined holding force while the indication window 35 is located on the indications for discrimination.
