PURPOSE: To obtain a dialyzing fluid of peritoneum containing palatinose as an osmotic pressure controlling agent, reduced in lowering of osmotic pressure in fluid during application of peritoneal dialysis and capable of removing water for a long time or in large quantities.
CONSTITUTION: Dialyzing fluid of peritoneum containing palatinose which are disaccharides at an amount of ≥0.2W/V%, preferably 2.0-10W/V% as an osmotic pressure-controlling agent for controlling osmotic pressure required for removing water. Since the dialyzing fluid has higher molecular weight than molecular weight of glycol which has been used hitherto, rate of palatinose diffusing through peritoneum into blood is relatively slow and lowering of osmotic pressure is also slow and the aimed dialyzing fluid has effect capable of removing water for a long time and prescribed removal of water can be carried out even when frequency for exchanging dialyzing fluid per day is reduced. Low initial osmotic pressure can be used compared with a conventional dialyzing fluid. The aimed dialyzing fluid can contain physiological salts capable of osmotically existing together with blood or the above-mentioned salts and carbohydrate nutrient in addition to palatinose.
